SAMHSA Releases MH-CLD 2020 Annual Report

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the Mental Health Client-Level Data (MH-CLD) 2020 Annual Report. This report presents results from the Mental Health Client-Level Data (MH-CLD) and Mental Health Treatment Episode Data Set (MH-TEDS) for individuals receiving mental health services from state mental health systems in 2020, as well as selected trends in data collected from such individuals between 2015 and 2020. The report provides information on mental health diagnoses, mental health treatment settings, and demographic and substance use characteristics of individuals in mental health treatment in facilities that reported to individual state administrative data systems.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the 2022 Q2 Quick Statistics for the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS). The Quick Statistics tool provides state profiles for TEDS, National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services, and National Mental Health Services Survey data. The TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the 2022 Q1 Quick Statistics for Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS), National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS), and National Mental Health Services Survey (N-MHSS). The Quick Statistics tool provides state profiles for TEDS, N-SSATS, and N-MHSS data. The TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities. The N-SSATS is an annual survey of facilities providing substance abuse treatment. The N-MHSS is an annual survey of facilities providing mental health treatment.

Preliminary Findings from Drug-Related Emergency Department Visits, 2021. An analysis of 2021 preliminary data presents (1) nationally representative weighted estimates for the top five drugs in drug-related ED visits, (2) the assessment of monthly trends and drugs involved in polysubstance ED visits in a subset of sentinel hospitals, and (3) the identification of drugs new to DAWN’s Drug Reference Vocabulary.

Preliminary Findings from Drug-Related Emergency Department Visits, 2021

The Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) has released a preliminary report on 2021 drug-related emergency department (ED) visits from participating hospitals across the United States. The report provides national estimates on the top five drugs involved in these types of visits and presents them by demographic and geographic subgroups.

New NSDUH 2020 Public-Use File on SAMHDA

The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) 2020 public-use file is the latest in the NSDUH series. The NSDUH 2020 data are available to download on the SAMHDA site. NSDUH is the primary source of statistical information on the use of tobacco, alcohol, prescription drugs, and illicit drugs by the U.S. civilian, noninstitutionalized population aged 12 or older. The survey also includes several series of questions that focus on mental health issues.
